Red Ribbon Week

Every year during Red Ribbon Week (nationally held in October), Drug Free Grady hosts a week full of events to inform students and citizens of Grady County about the effects of substance abuse. Drug Free Grady is honored to have a special guest speaker at the kickoff event (Red Ribbon Rally) every year. Guests have included: Charles Wells and country music star Jeff Bates. We also have local citizens ranging from ages 16-50 come and speak of their stories as well, so that everyone is exposed to both out-of-town and local stories. GSAAP is honored to partner with local organizations to help put this week full of events on every year. A major organization is Family Worship Center, a local church that opens its doors year-round to those struggling with substance abuse. We also partner with the Grady County School System and Superintendent Dr. Kermit Gilliard to ensure that all Middle and High School students are exposed to these informational events.
