ABOUT US
a doorway to Hope
The Grady County Substance Abuse, Awareness and Prevention Council was formed in 2011 by the 2007 Communities of Opportunity (Co-Op) Initiative with the Department of Community Affairs and with the collaboration of three key community leader organizations: Grady County Family Connection, City of Cairo and the Grady County Board of Commissioners.
One of the goals of this initiative is that Grady County desires to improve all its citizens’ quality of life by reducing Substance Abuse use and provide positive youth development programs within the county.
To help address these issues, Drug Free Grady, was launched. They began working together in January 2011. The team is made up of interested individuals that represent our community.
Our purpose is to educate and provide resources to prevent substance abuse and addiction in Grady County.
Drug Free Grady focuses on substance abuse education, prevention, and support. Our team was formed to accomplish these goals through school enrichment programs, community events, and resources.
Drug Free Grady hosts and partners with other organizations, agencies, business on drug awareness and prevention events and activities within our community.
